Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Puri was established in August, 2006 vide letter No.2-32/2003-AE-11 Dt.12.6.2006 of DDG (AE), ICAR and it started functioning in Kakatpur Block campus. It was then shifted to Sakhigopal in December 2010 vide letter No. PRE (UAT)/93/10/20753 of Additional Secretary, Department of Agriculture, Govt. of Odisha
KVK Puri has been extending technical support to the farming community in the district since 2006 by conducting need based location , location specific trials, demonstrations and other extension activities. The major focus is to increase the income of the farmers by decreasing production cost and popularizing resource conservation practices. It also focuses income generation of farm women in rural youth by adoption of sustainable agri-enterprises and farming system models. KVK is executing various activities with the vision to empower the farming community by proper utilization of available resource based with timely problem identification and solving.
